Sometimes Religion is Dangerous for our Children

"Note: Just to let you it is not that we don't believe in things like that, it is just misslead when you talk about it being billions of years old, when we all know that the world is only about 6,000 years old. So why would I pay so that you can mislead my children, your world is just a revolving(?), ours has a start and an end. God created the world. He created animals and man all in the same week. It was also Adam who named all the animals, they will do the essay 'Rock and Minerals' but it might not be 5 pages long, and about billions of years, it will be according to the Bible."

I found this note on PZ Myers' blog Pharyngula. I know in this country we are "free" to "believe" any way we choose, but, intentionally misleading your children and ignoring rational science, that is not in dispute, unless you attend a Baptist or Evangelical church, is dangerous for the child and the country.

  1. The chain of comments below the original posting on FailBlog are immensely hilarious. People start using the names of rocks in their comments and it goes on for 65 comments or so. Like "Granite be real?" Made me laugh.

  2. Someone actually tried the following explanation explanation for the science vs. religion debate last week...

Science makes stuff up as a way to explain the truth that religion knows. They are just stories so the scientists can find a way to understand the divinity of God.

Now to go check out those comments on the original blog!!
